How I got into Transcript Proofreading

and where things go from here

Transcript proofreading is a specialized proofreading niche.

The work entails proofreading transcripts created by court reporters and other transcript creators, which is done with annotation software and other tools.

The rules for transcript proofreading differ from regular grammar rules.

To graduate from the course I learned from, I had to proofread over 3,000 pages of legal transcripts and get high marks to pass the class.

I’m grateful for having learned this skill, and I’m proud to help preserve the record of verbatim speech taken in legal proceedings.
